If you’re importing a YouTube clip and get this error, it usually means StreamLadder can't access the clip data. Here’s why that might happen:
The clip is private or unlisted — make sure it's publicly viewable.
The clip was created from a stream that ended less than 24 hours ago — YouTube may still be processing the video.
It’s not a valid video link — make sure you’re using a direct link to a video, not a Shorts link or a playlist.
The video was deleted or blocked — if it’s no longer available publicly, it can’t be imported.
Wait 24 hours
If the clip is from a livestream that ended within the past day, YouTube might not have fully processed the VOD yet. Try again later.
Check the link in an incognito tab
If the video doesn’t open in incognito mode, it might be private, age-restricted, or subscriber-only. Make sure it’s public and accessible.
Double-check the link format
Use a full YouTube video link (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
). Avoid Shorts links or redirects.
If you’ve confirmed the video is public and more than 24 hours old, and it still doesn’t work — reach out to us!
